Park

After the meeting, I had a chat with the young woman who had made the moving speech. I found out that her name was Andrea and that she didn't have a boyfriend.
I asked her out on a date.
She said: "I will, but only on the understanding that to turn you down would make me a hypocrite."
I was delighted.
The following evening, I took her for a walk in the park. It was early spring and the trees were laden with sweet-scented blossom. The air was warm and I felt almost intoxicated by the presence of this wonderful woman.
As we walked, I told her about my life. I told her about my dreams and hopes for the future, about my interests and tastes in art and culture. I told her everything about myself and how her speech had touched a chord within me. I said that she was right - everyone should be given a chance, everyone should be listened to and not dismissed out of hand as had happened to me so many times.
She listened attentively to all this, nodding occasionally and sometimes saying things like "hmmm yes" and "I would imagine so".
As the sun went down, she looked at me with those sexy eyes of hers and said: "Right, I've given you a chance. I've really tried to like you - now fuck off."
