Whiplash
Shortly after I won my compensation, I got taken to court by one of the boys who had stolen my car.
He'd suffered from whiplash and was suing me for compensation.
His lawyer argued that as the owner of the car, I had failed in my duty of care towards the child. The judge agreed and added that he'd never seen such a disgraceful disregard for the safety of others, that he was shocked to his very core by my callous attitude and that he found himself bitterly disappointed that he could not pass a death sentence for civil cases.
He awarded eighty thousand pounds in compensation to the boy and ordered me to pay his legal costs.
"But I haven't got that much money," I protested.
I then got sent to the cells for the night for contempt of court.
